Thanks Trish and Logan, yes I do have the Swinburn info about the very naughty Adam the convict. Those tats, red whiskers, tendency to remarry while married  etc certainly paint an unattractive picture and yes, in case you're wondering, the red hair gene has survived all those generations and reemerged in both my brother and me... we don't have any tats though and we are very law abiding. The Lamberts sound a, bit posh, and if so, would have been mightily displeased with Ellen's choice of the ruddy Adam with his convict past.! Cheers Julie

From 1837 lists Robert Lambert Snr being given 1 convict;
