Knaresborough, Blucher Street.

There is reference to this street in the 1822 Baines Directory.

Can anyone tell me where it was, or what it is called today please?

I have a feeling that I have seen it or a reference to it ? Maybe near 'Water Bag Street' - sorry Old timers disease.

Google and email 'Wharfegen' or 'Harrogate people', someone there is sure to be able to help

I scrolled through the 1851 Census disc and couldn't find it, but will try the Water bag area again...will also email the people you suggest.

Blucher Street was still there in 1837 - referred to in Whites directory of 1837.
There should be a street directory to go with the directory but I have not been able to locate one.

Hi

According to the 1841 census Bulcher Street was between Beach (Beech) Hill and Vicarage Lane then Divine Market or Fincal (Finkle) Street.

If you go to google maps and put in Vicarage Lane then zoom in a little you will see Beech Hill and Finkle Street so it was probably around that area. As Dave mentions Water Bag Bank can be seen also.

That's interesting and may explain why it wasn't there by 1851.

The area between Vicarage Lane and Beech Hill is right where the railway line was constructed.
