Irene (Nell) CRONIN nee CARRISON

I am tracing descendants of IRENE AUDREY Cronin nee CARRISON  born 1898, and died 1977 Age 79  in Kew.  She married CYRIL FREDERICK CRONIN 1918. 

Irene known as "Nell" had  two daughters Thelma and Iris Cronin
   i.    THELMA AUDREY CRONIN, b. 1919, Carlton; m. NEWING.
   ii.    IRIS CRONIN, m. BUCKLAND. (USA)

Nell took many 8 mm movies and I am hoping some have survived.
My connection goes back to Mary Ann Wilding.

The name CRONIN got my attention, thought I might be able to help, but Cyril Cronin doesn't ring a bell with me. My maiden name is Cronin and my forebears settled in NSW when they came out from Ireland.

Irene Audrey CRONIN does not appear on any electoral rolls with her husband at the same address.  Did they separate early in the marriage?  There is a Cyril Frederick CRONIN on the 1949 NSW electoral roll, but really no way of knowing if it is Irene's husband.

John died in Apr 1987 and both he and Thelma were cremated at Springvale and their ashes scattered.  Irene CRONIN was also cremated at Springvale and her ashes scattered.

You may know by these further details if this is your CYRIL FREDERICK CRONIN.
His first Military record for ww1 shows he joined in 1915 aged 18 and was born in South Yarra, Melb.
His mother is Next of Kin, HETTIE JANE CRONIN. She gives written consent for him to go abroard. She has an address in Parkville

There is aletter dated Jan 1960, regarding Repatriation Benefits.

His second record is for ww2 and gives abirthdate 26/11/1898. His next of kin now is PHYLLIS CRONIN and he lives in Sydney NSW.

Here is the marriage of CYRIL and PHYLLIS in NSW

REG. 22883 In 1940  CRONIN,  CYRIL FREDERICK  to SUMMERS  PHYLLIS  at  SYDNEY.

Still no certainty he is the same man as married IRENE .

There are other mentions of a Cyril CRONIN who was a bit of a naughty man,  mostly in Qld but no way of knowing if it is the same chap (on looking at the chap in Qld it's possible he is too young).  A couple of Melbourne mentions also which may be him.
