It seems Alice Louisa  married Edward William J Woods -although she appears as Hart in 1901

her son was

Francis Levett Woods
birth reg
Sept qtr 1897 Ipswich 4a 919

also Pomponia Watson b.c.1894 Suffolk lived with them and became a "Ward" of Alice Louisa's mother

Alice Louisa's son served in the armed forces (looks like only for 11 days though)

Pension records
Francis Levett Woods
no 3792 reg A.S.C.
service 27/6/15 to 7/7/15
Discharged having failed to pass test as Clerk
Occ Grocer
served 3 years apprenticship at Miler and Slater? Ipswich
Height 5' 9''
Weight 126  lbs
girth 35''
Complexion fresh
Eyes Brown
hair Brown
Religion CofE
next of kin Alice Louisa Woods(mother) 87 hervey St Ipswich

this looks like birth reg of father
Edward William J Woods
Mar qtr 1869
Ipswich
4a 654

There is something strange about Edward William J Woods

He appears on census until after he married Alice louisa

Alice Louisa is on 1901 census as "Hart" and married
She appears in 1911 as Woods and married
No sign of Edward William J Woods
I think he had been married previously and had 2 daughters who were with grandparents in 1901
No sign of Edward William J Woods after 1891 -no death reg found

Edit Think he is on 1911 described as Widower!!!!!

????

You mention looking for information in Ipswich and Laxfield.

The parish records for Laxfield All Saints are at Ipswich branch of the Suffolk Record Office.

There is a small local history museum at Laxfield http://www.onesuffolk.co.uk/LaxfieldMuseum and of course the church of your ancestors to visit (www.suffolkchurches.co.uk)

Don't forget to call in at the Low House (The King's Head pub)

Pat ...

Every time I find an ancestor,
I have to find two more!

SUFFOLK - Pendle, Stygall, Pipe, Fruer, Bridges, Fisk, Bellamy, Sparham - all link to  Framlingham
DERBY - Bridges and Frost (originally Framlingham/Parham)
NOTTINGHAM - Lambert & Selby
BERKSHIRE/then Hammersmith LDN - Fulker
LDN/MDX - Murray, Clancy, Broker, Hoskins, Marsden, Wilson, Sale

GGfather Michael Wilson born Cork, lived Fulham London - moved to Boston USA 1889, what happened next?
