Hi,
Have looked through the census (twice) and could not find a John Miller in either townland unless I missed it both times. Are you aware that the 1831 census names only the Head of household, and gives the number of males and the number of Females in each household and the religion?

Regards
Stewart, Irwin, Morrison, Haslett, Murrell - Dungiven area Co. Londonderry
Browne, Barrett -Co.Armagh
Neil, Smyth _Co. Antrim

How do you know that the Catherine Miller married 1829 in First Garvagh Presbyterian Church was the daughter of John Miller and Mary ?. Early (pre-1845) marriages from that register do not list father's name or townland.

John Miller of Mettican had a son James bapt. 13 Dec.1807 and Catherine bapt. 28 Feb.1810 but I can't find baptisms for an Alexander and William. Also can't find any Millers of Cuilbane in my notes from First Garvagh records around that date but will go back and re-check my copies.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I have some flimsy proof!

- On Catherine Miller's marriage record was John Miller, as witness.

I think the family of John Miller was from Mettican Glebe Townland, parish of Errigal

Any census info?

Any other suggestions of where to look?

thanks
