1851, 1861 look-up for CABLE

Thats Fantastic Mike.....How you boys work well together.....I must have been meant to put you 2 together...as I said to SS It was just uncanny that I go off looking at websites (Not something I normally do) just after doing your lookup and the first thing I notice is Aquila Cable.... I have just had a look For Timothy Case and alas cant find one in the 1851 Census for Somerset....Had a quick look at IGI and no Hannah so no idea who else I should be looking for there

I would certainly think this Jabes you have found would be the same person. Jabez Jabes same diff...sure enumerators wouldnt have had a clue how to spell these unusual names (They had enough trouble with common ones....LOL)

I Just See that all 3 boys are in Wales in 1871...Do you have those entries? Since you mention Jabes I presume u probaly do ...No point typing them up if you have them....Kris

Thanks Kris, you have been a great help.  I hear so many stories about people finding other people on the same line that I doubt it is just a coincidence, other forces are at work I reckon.

With the case of Timothy Case (please excuse my awful puns, I can't help myself) I'm wondering whether he is in another county at this time, more searching to be done.

I'll check my records over the weekend to see what I have on the Cable boys who went to Wales, I also think one went to London to live.

I'll talk to you again when I have more info.

PS. I do have one question regarding the gender of Azarriah Cable, I thought it was a female name but I have seen a male with this name, just wondering.

No Worries Mike....Some of those were only submitted entries from the IGI so it doesnt say...I Would go for Male personally particularly when you look at the type of names this family are using. I tried for Azarriah born somerset got none with the double R but 8 with a single R all Male! but alas no Cables...Perhaps you or SS can check the parish records....A Couple of the family were actual Methodist records but the rest were just the submitted enties by LDS members....Doest surprise when you look at these very Methodist names from this early period of Methodistism ...They took their religion very seriously and this family giving Caleb John Wesleys name they were clearly committed members...With regards to the case of Timothy Case Ill have a Look in a min and C if Hannah Still says she was born Frome in 71 census Just in Case!!!! I nearly said that last post but thought I had better not be silly....Kris

1891 Poor old Aquila is indexed as Angela and has lost a few years as he is now only 60 married to Ann 48 b Frome  (I no He is Aquila hasnt had a sex change but Id like a dose of his reverse aging formula please)...LOL

On the humerous side my kids actually went to school with a Justin Case....I Kid u Not!...dont you recon he got paid out...LOL

yes, SS and I both came to the same conclusion with Aquila and Susannah, though I haven't found a record of Hannah's death.  As for his female impersonantion, maybe he discovered the delights of cross-dressing, or maybe he was escaping from someone, yes that's it he was a dangerous criminal on the run, I think I'll add that to Cable folklore.

As for kids names, you think Justin must have had a hard time, I've heard of a Teresa Green, a Thomas Gunn and his brother Raymond.

I do have another query, A Robert Fisher, born around 1839, I believe in Street Somerset.  He could have been the youngest of up to 11 children.  If you can find anything on this gentleman I would be rapped, as they say here in Oz.

According to my FreeBMD deductions:

Jun 1839 Frome, Aquila CABLE m  Hannah CASE (10 645)

Sep 1869 Merthyr T, Aquila CABLE m Susannah WILLIAMS (11a 455)
Dec 1889 Merthyr T, Susan CABLE d aged 78 (11a 309)
but then
Sep 1890 Crickhowell, Aquila CABLE m Ann JONES (11b 160)
and finally,
Mar 1896 Merthyr T, Aquila CABLE died aged 77 (11a 352)

Now, I have not obtained any of these certificates to confirm the details. But according to the 1881 census, there is only 1 Aquila CABLE in the British Isles, so it looks like Aquila liked being married.

Kris, is it possible for you to provide the census reference's for Aquila in 1871 & 1891. I have the CD images for Glamorgan, but no access to indexes.

Well Isnt that interesting SS. He certainly did like being married and to women with very similar names. One could be forgiven for assuming it to be one and the same person without looking further
