Hi Kris

fantastic, you have given me James who I didn't know about, much appreciated.

Maybe you can help with another, Aquila's wife, Maria Hams, born around 1849-51, father, John Hams and mother Ann.  John was a boot maker if that helps. She may not be on the 1851 but should be on the 1861, this would also be a great help.  Thanks again

Hi Mike....Thats great. Glad to help.  Unfortunately I don't have 1861 census for Somerset. Sorry. I am a bit confused with this request. Can you tell me more about these people please. I'm lost. Without more to go on I have found a John Ham who is a shoemaker aged 32  No Children but wife is Sarah Living in Wedmore 1851. If you can tell me more I will have another Look for you.....

What a small world ...A Funny Coincidence was after looking up Aquila for you today I Was having a quick look at what people are doing with their Rootschat websites and happened to see that SS_Rhondda appears to be researching the same people as you

Hi Kris

thanks for your assistance, I am now in PM contact with SS_Rhondda, looks promising.

Now my apologies, in my excitement over the details you gave me, I got confused with Aquila's wife.  Maria Hams is his daughter-in-law.  His wife was Hannah Case, I think she was a bit older that him, born around 1816, her father was Timothy Case.

I have Aquila and Hannah's marriage cert. which shows his dad as James Cable (SS_Rhondda please note, cos I think I told you it was John), so it is very likely that the James Cabble=Ann Plummer you've found are his parents.

As for the names, I'm glad they had the foresight to use unusual ones because it makes it a lot easier finding them.  I have come across a Jabes Cable (B. c1831) off the 1871 census who looks like he may be related to Aquila.  But is this his birth name or just a version of Jabez or even Caleb!?? A bit more digging is required I think.

Thanks again

Mike
