I know it's a wild card but there just may  be someone researching the same family.
Unfortunately don't know the area of Wales.  not a lot of help I know, but in the past fellow rootschatters have come up trumps.

All I know born circa 1760  He was a stone Mason and had two brothers.
The family moved to Derbyshire England prior to 1790.

Sorry I don't know which area of Wales Henry Evers was born but I have found 2 early wills on the National Library of Wales index, which may be relevant.

They are both from Barry area of Glamorgan:

Evers, Elyzabeth, Barri, Y, Glamorgan, Widow - bond, 1695

Hi,
I am a new recruit to the site . just joined after seeing your post about Henry Evers.
So thats why I couldn't find him. He is from Wales! Well whats new. He is in my family
tree on mothers side. Big relief. Hope its the right person. Thanks for your post! :)

Welcome to Rootschat!

We didn't prove that Henry was related to the Evers family in Barry so no indication which area of Wales he was born. There seem to have been some Evers family members in the Neath area of Glamorgan according to the nineteenth century census records.

There was a Henry Evers married Elizabeth Danby on 31st Jan 1791 at Whitwell, Derbyshire, but not sure if this is the person Pam was seeking.  :-\

thanks for your reply.

We have been looking for Henry's origins on and off for years! :-[
We know he married Elizabeth Danby and their son,
William Hastings, is certainly one of my clan. But Henry doesnt
seem to appear on any igi records or anything, except his marriage
in 1791.I believe William was a stone mason too, they all worked on
the Duke of Portland's estates, Welbeck etc. Or so the rumour goes...
I was hoping he was also from Whitwell!Its a nuisance when ones ancestors
all come from Wales and Ireland(even more difficult)...

Well thanks again. I will keep on the trail.

   don't know if anyone still reads this thread,but I have found on Family Search a christening for Catherin Evers dated 18/4/1682 at Whitwell in Derbyshire. Father named Mathew and mother Elizabeth. So it seems history in Whitwell runs back a bit further than previously thought. Also found a marriage in Maltby in 1601 for a William Evers to Alice Nelson. Maltby is not too far away to Whitwell and there other connections to the Evers family in nearby locations in the 1700's, including Wath Upon Dearne, Wentworth and Alfreton.
