Henry Scott/ Wilhemina Lunn- Roberton/ Cavers
« on: Thursday 23 September 10 17:19 BST (UK) »
Looking for any further information on Henry Scott and Wilhemina Lunn born 1799 and whose mother was Elizabeth Telfer. They were married at Cavers in 1820. They had at least 6 children one of whom is Beatrice and my direct line. The other sister was Marian Scott  born 1829 and is thought to have married Charles Scott of Milsington. I am interseted in the Milsington History and other info that may be relevant.

Thankyou  :-*

Hi Scottlunn

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

Was Marion's husband Charles or Thomas Scott. I have seen references on line to her husband being Thomas.

Charles Scott 13
James Scott 10
Mary Scott   8
Henry Scott 6
Thomas Scott 4
William Scott 2

Address: Wilsington, Roberton, Selkirkshire

Likely death entry for Thomas from Scotlands People wills & testaments:

Thomas Scott, 18/06/1879 TENANT, MILSINGTON, COUNTY OF ROXBURGH, D. 23/04/1879 AT MILSINGTON, TESTATE - JEDBURGH SHERIFF COURT

Possible christening entry for Thomas on IGI:

THOMAS SCOTT Christening: 06 SEP 1815 Crailing, Roxburgh

Thomas' marriage or death cert would let you confirm his parents' details properly  :)

Thanks Monica- I think you are right and it is Thomas. Thankyou for the link for the Milsington history. I would be grateful if you have any ideas on trying to get further back on Henry Scott born 1800. I have tried most of the records online.  :-*

Scott

Henry and Mina are my 4G grandparents. I got to the Marion and the MIlsington connection as well.
Their sons, John born 1843 and Henry (my 2G ) born 1845 are actually their grandsons.  Both Kathleen and another researcher, a descendant of John gave me info to help sort them out.  I haven't been able to find out any more about Henry senior, although I think he was born in 1796 not 1800.

Kathleen Stewarts books, based on the records kept by the family at Milsington are fascinating records.  I think we have all of the books at the Borders FHS archive.

There are Lunn's buried at Borthwick Wa'as - do you have a link to them?

Thanks Elma, I am a direct descendant of John Scott. He was my g, g, grandfather. There was a Scott reunion on Sunday in Otterburn. Were you there? If not there was a lot of good information. Nobody seemed to have any links to Henry 1796 but there were links to Mina.

Hi Scottlunn
I was one of the organisers so I probably know you - I haven't been able to get past Henry Scott (1797) - the Lunns have more information.
I can let you have more Lunn/ Scott and Thomson (from Beatrice's marriage) if you would like it
