Can anyone help me out please? I am looking for Henry Wade Ollis. I have a wedding certificate for his daughter, Kathleen Millicent's marriage, in 1923, where he is shown as dec. But Occupation looks like, Warrant officer, Royal Engineers. On the Daughters baptism certificate in 1904, the event takes place at the Garrison Church of St. George, Aldermaston. the address given, is I presume on the, base, it's 5 East Terrace, S. L. ? his wife is Miranda, or Melinda. I have found the marriage record, for him dated 1900, in Farnham, Hants, which I have ordered and am waiting for. However can't find them in any census returns, Any suggestions!!!!!

Henry Wade Ollis age 42, Sergeant Major Royal Engineers b. Portsmouth
Hannah Miranda Ollis wife, age 28, b. Cobham, Surrey
Mary Edith Ollis dau, age 2 b. Aldershot.

This look like Henry's family in the 1861 Census - RG9/640/27/2

Mathias Ollis Head, age 29, Landing? Shipwright, b. Portsmouth
Sarah, wife, age 30, b. ditto
Mathias, son age 5, b. ditto
Henry Wade, son, age 3 b. ditto
Alice Lydia, dau, age 8m, b. ditto

1871 census - RG10/1128/79/52 - Living at 2 North Terrace, Portsea.

The same as the 1861 census but with the addition of Rosa K Ollis, dau b.Portsea.

Mathias (father) occupation is shown as Leading Man of Shipwrights.

There is a marriage of a Matthias Ollis, Jun 1855, Portsea 2b 685. On the same page is a Sarah Ann Wade. That could be the marriage of Henry's parents especially as the surname Wade fits in well.

Hi Daisy49.

Kathleen Millicent Ollis was my Grandmother.  She was married to Stanley Herbert Thorn.  They had two children.  Little is Known about one of the children Wade, as he died at or soon after birth in about 1932.

Henry Wade Ollis married Hannah Marinda Fearn.  From my information, she remarried after Henry died.
