an ancestry tree I was looking at hoping for more lost family updates actually has atleast 2 major errors on it. Soon as I saw his  listed source: LDS data for a Marriage & Birth I thought  uh oh...Had scanty documentation that didnot support my particular interest .Was trying to notify tree owner but it never posted.

 My sources are : Scotland Registration Certificates Birth/Marriage/Death for verification 
various Glasgow Censuses for the occupations and  addresses that they have been at mainly Candleriggs Street and Mathieson Street.


My great great aunt was  Elizabeth Houston born in Ireland. She gives several ages. What never
changes is : her mother is Isabella Joyce & her father is John Houston occupation Spirit Merchant.
This particular tree has her being born 1827 in Londonderry Ireland of wrong parents:
Francis Houston & Jane Cary of Londonderry, Ireland.
The tree goes onto absorb my William Butler Duff  born 1858 ( son of Elizabeth Houston & William Duff) and gives him an incorrect marriage.

Correct = William Butler Duff married 1890 Janet Neilson ... His son George  born abt 1897. George Neilson Duff married Fanny McRoberts in 1926, Glasgow Scotland

Might be worth viewing the OPR marriage record to see if it contains information on her father

Thank you sancti....my understanding is that the OPR Marriage records have basic information on them. That it is after the 1855 Scotland Registrations; with the wealth of information.
My own great great grandparents' 1847 Glasgow Marriage for example have their names and
that is pretty much it. No mention of their parents either.
 
As I have previously mentioned, on my great great grandfather Valentine Armstrong's Death
Registration 1859 September 1, Glasgow,  Elizabeth Houston identifies her self as his half sister and gives  (their mother) as Isabella Joyce. So rather than supposition, there are several other Scottish                            documents with John Houston/Isabella Joyce as her parents
