Um... do we discuss here or on the other thread?

I also enjoyed this programme, and it did have a different "feel" about it though I can't put my finger on why.
A few too many tears for me, or perhaps too many
closeups of said tears may be more accurate, though both sides were within living memory so understandable I suppose.
I would have liked to have seen a bit more delving into earlier generations. And did Magda really need to go to Ireland to view the 1901 and 1911 censuses and to have the Irish researcher hand her the relevant documents and tell her about her ancestors? I can view the Irish censuses free on my PC.

It's more understandable that she travelled to Warsaw to vist her father's friend. I admit to not fully understanding the politics involved but felt uneasy with the way she simply dismissed her father's killing of his townsfolk as something that "had to be done" or words to that effect ...

I also felt she very easly dismissed and made excuses for her Irish grandfather's early bad behaviour and police record. (Talking here about the assaults rather than any theft of food to live)
I loved the subtitles for the Scottish accent!

I would also like to know what brought the families to Australia ...
They said Magda was in Warsaw 3 years ago for her father's funeral ... did he live in Warsaw and her mother in Australia? Were they estranged?
Just a few thoughts about the show ...
