Edward's place of birth in 1901 is Sennybridge yet on the 1911 his place of birth is Ebbw Vale.  All confusing the issue here.
However his year of birth on the 1911 is 1840 and his age is 71.  He is still living with Margaret and adopted son Brinley Bevan ( Williams) at 9 River Row, Tredegar.

Best wishes

Annie

Hi Annie,

I orginally thought that Thomas was married to a Sarah Arthur but on their record on the LDS website it states that Thomas died in 1848 and we know that he didn't because we have him on the 1881 Census in Himalaya Range, also on some of the census records for the them it also states that Thomas died before 1848, so after checking and checking I now know that it wasn't Sarah Arthur - in total I think I have found about 4 marriages and the most likely is to a Sarah Lewis but not 100% yet thats why I am trying to get Edward's Birth Cert to find out his mothers name.
I have Edward's  mrge cert to Margaret and it states a Thomas as his father, and I also wanted to check that the Thomas in Himalaya Range in 1881 is 100%  correct.  I have traced Thomas back to 1851 Census and the family are in Victoria a place just near Tredegar and some of the children around that time have Victoria as their place of birth, so it looks like I might be on the right track, just need to find out Edward's mothers name to be 100%.

Let me know how you get on
Gaynor

Hi again Gaynor

http://web.ukonline.co.uk/b.gardner/tredegar/census1881.htm.

Try this website . This site gives you a comprehensive list of all the occupants of Himalaya Range  in 1881.  It's now known as Troedrhiwgwair.

You will see that Edward is living at No.30 his brother David c1844 lives at No. 29 and their parents Thomas and Sarah  at No.27.  My great grandfather Daniel  ( brother to Edward and David) is a 19yr old living with his parents Thomas and Sarah as is his sister Mary.

Daniel married in 1883 and his father Thomas is noted as deceased on his marriage certificate although it gives Thomas's occupation as Foreman in Mine works  as does 1881 census  RG11/5244.  I can email you the census link via Ancestry if you'd like.

Best wishes
Annie

Thanks Annie,

I have already the 1881 Census and that's how I came up with the idea that Edward & David may have a father, Thomas just a few doors away, but I didn't realise your connection - so now I do!!!Many thanks!!

I working on all names at the moment, so when I get some further information regarding Edward's birth cert, then I can let you know -  the connection for Thomas to be Edwards and David's father is nearly concrete, just want to find out the mother's name to be sure.

Finally, I have already put a message on the Tredegar Forum, I use it a lot -its under the same username stanley1, haven't had many replies yet though. Rootschat is much better!! I don't think anyone from Tredegar reads the site! But with ref to the 1881 Census I already have it, so thanks for that!
