Anyone have any photos / info about this pub. I was born at the other end of this street and my grandmother was a live-in barmaid when she was married in 1897

That's interesting, a cousin (Geraldine Sexton) of my Grandfather was barmaid at The Homfray Arms (43 Jeddo Street) in 1911. It looks like this was at the other end of the street from the Royal Oak?

I was born in Jeddo St (in 1948). It was divided in two by Courtybella Terrace with the Homfrey Arms (also known as the "Free and Flat" after it had to give some of it's beer away when it went off) on the corner opposite a small grocery shop where I used to go buy sweets.

I believe you've mistaken Courtybella Terrace for Pottery Terrace. I lived the other side of the railway lines in New Street.
