Another thought - it was very popular right up to WW1 and after (though less popular) for a daughter to return home for the confinement of her first child.

So Annie B. from Hastings, marries Bertie B. from Southampton, they move to Southampton after marriage, but when their first child is due Annie moves back home for the last weeks of her pregnancy so her mother can help with birth and the week or so after.  So child's birth is registered in Hastings but will live rest of life in Southampton.

Some girls travelled the length of the country to go home to mum for the birth of their first child.
