On the 1841 census HO107/1448/15/29  he is living with his wife Sarah c1810 and their children
Ann c1831
Martha c1836
Elizabeth c1839

at Burnash Hill ??  Martletwy Pembrokeshire,  also at the address is an Ann Watkins c1761.

Thanks in advance for any leads here   ???

Burnash Hill is fine for Martletwy.
William Picton a collier mrd Sarah Watkins at Martletwy 29 Jan 1831.

I suspect William is related to the Widow Margaret Picton who is living down the road at Westfield in 1861, she was probably mrd to John Picton who mrd Margaret Cole at Martletwy 03 Mar 1827.

Whilst William may be the son of John Picton who mrd Elizabeth Davies at Martletwy in 1777 I'm not so sure and would even question whether William was born/baptised at Martletwy as he and Sarah claim in 1861, I would be looking more to the West for his baptism entry.

Its a pity the Picton wills of the ECC of St David's do not offer more than they appear to.

I note you have 'circa' for the childrens baptism, if you search the IGI for all Picton's in Wales you will find most if not all the baptism's you require to Wm & Sarah at Martletwy.

Went to the Record Office and found the following ;

Srch Martletwy for baptism of William Picton
01 Aug 1811 William son of Joseph & Martha Picton baptized

Srch Martletwy for baptism of Sarah Watkins
There is a Wilkins family listed in the parish, no Sarah, but there is no reference to the Watkins surname around the time (1808-1813) of your interest.
I only had enough time left to quickly search index’s and confirm that the mrge of Joseph Picton to Martha did not take place in the Narberth hundred, so will look else where on my next visit.

Thank you for finding William Picton who just happens to be my great x3 grandfather, it's much appreciated.
I have now linked William to his siblings
Jane  July1800
John 13.2.1803
Thomas1806

Parents Joseph Picton 1781 and Martha Butler?? 1771 of Boulston Pembrokeshire.

I have taken this information from trees on Ancestry where there are copies of death certificates for both Joseph  died 3.6.1846 and Martha died just 2 weeks later on 17.6.1846.

Any more help here would be wonderful!

Diolch yn fawr
Kind regards
Annie

I searched Martletwy and all Pembs Rec Off mrge index’s for the mrge of a Joseph Picton to Martha Butler, nothing found. There is debate as to whether Joseph and Martha where mrd at the time of Joseph’s baptism 11 Jan 1799, for all other they have mrd but not in Pembrokeshire.

Martletwy Baptism 1794 to 1813 to Joseph & Martha Picton

Joseph to Joseph Picton & Martha Butler baptized 11 Jan 1799 (as entered)

Jane to Joseph Picton & Martha his wife 20 July 1799

John ditto 13 Feb 1803
Thomas ditto 01 May 1805
Mark ditto 30 Apr 1811
William ditto 01 Aug 1811
