Tracing an ancestor post 1920
« on: Sunday 12 September 10 10:22 BST (UK) »
Hi folks, following from the excellent help I received tracing my great grandfather, Charles Henry Grimes, I am looking to find any information on him post 1920. What I do know is that he was born in Staffordshire in 1887, son of James and Eliza Grimes. He enlisted in the Territorial force in 1913 and signed up with the army for short service in 1920. He left the army in August 1920 (due to injury) and received a pension to his parents address at 16 Izaak Walton street, sSaffordshire.

What I dont have is any information after this, there doesnt seem to be any divorce records (he was married to Sarah Jane in 1913 and they seem to have separated around 1918) or death records. I am keen to find out what became of him. I know he spent a number of years service in France, if he returned here is there anywhere I could trace him?

Appreciate any help at all with this.
Steve.

Hi Steve,

Welcome to RootsChat :)

As you already have a topic on this family,

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,481931.0.html

it's probably better for you to continue your search there.  I'll lock this topic so people don't duplicate the information here.

Good luck,
Bob
