Email Hijacked
« on: Sunday 12 September 10 01:12 BST (UK) »
My Hotmail.com email has been hijacked.  I have tried to change my profile information but when I put my old password in the colum heading "Current password" and I put in the old one and I click change, it wont accept it.  It has been an absolutely nightmare trying to get my hotmail, com address back and though I have been in contact with Windows Live Solutions I am still no further on.  My new email is; (*)

In advance, many thanks for any help
Kirsten :'(

Hi Kirsten

Sorry to hear about your problems with hotmail, I had a similar problem about 2 months ago and no matter what I did or who I contacted I never was able to retreive my old account, hope you have better luck than I did. Since I got a gmail.account I've  had no problems.

Kirsten- I've removed your email address to prevent more spamming, etc. Rootschat doesn't allow such information to be posted .

You will see on this other thread - another member with a hotmail account was targeted 4 days ago - so those of us who had had contact - received scam e-mails of him being "mugged" in Spain.  ???

Thank you so much for your support :).  It is a horrible thing to happen to anybody and I feel so angry and violated  :o.  It is good to know that I am not alone and as for getting help from Windows live, quite frankly that is a joke.  I did manage to get it back once and changed the password, but that didn't help much for the next time I tried I was still locked out.  I am so glad I am maybe a little old fashioned and don't do any banking on the net.  If they had managed to get into that it would have been even more of a mess.  Once again thanks for your support - it has helped put a little smile back on my face.

I look after a very clever little boy one day a week and he was there when all the phone calls came from relatives checking to see if I was home and I had not been mugged.  He was sitting on my knee as I tried to login to my mail and unable to do so and he realised something was wrong and told me that a very BAD BAD man (person) was making me so sad and he would get his dad to sort the hijacker out (bash him hard on the nose).  When I spoke to his parents he had told them all about it and he was so lovingly supportive that the fact he thought his dad could sort things out.  That did make me smile.
