There is a likely marriage for Ebenezer in 1893 to a Caroline (not Spencer, checked for that) in Renfrewshire.

My link to an 1884 reference for Louis, father, is way off  :P There are a number of Will & Testament entries showing for him on SP which give death details as: TEACHER OF MUSIC, PAISLEY, D. 14/04/1881 AT PAISLEY (census that year on the 3 April).

A Caroline Hoeck died in 1940, b. 1863, not sure where in Scotland though, from the general searches.

Ebenezer married Caroline S Allgood in 1893, caroline's mothers maiden name was Anne ? Spencer. The marriage confirms Ebenezer's parents.

Well done Sharon  :D So there is a Spencer connection somewhere but the Spencer name perhaps not where it should be. I cannot see anything more on Ebenezer and wife Caroline. Nothing on the 1901 Scottish census. There are two Eb* Ho*ck showing in his age range but not the right ones on SP for 1901. Checked newspapers/books etc. and nothing of note.

I also checked 1901 for England, they are not there so maybe they left the country for a while but can not see them on incoming passenger lists.

Just a little info on the Hoeck side.

Theodor also left and went to the US and returned in 1900 with a Mrs. Hoeck.

I am wondering whether this is Caroline's parents' marriage:

Marriages 3rd Qrt 1859  www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl
Thomas Matthew Allgood and Marth Ann Spencer - Northwich: 8a/ 338

Possible 1871 entry in Worcester - RG10; Piece: 3049; Folio: 87; Page: 24:

Thomas M Allgood 62, letter press printer
Martha A Allgood 42, governess
Caroline S Allgood 7
Emily M Allgood 2
Emily F Andrews 19
Frederick Lamb 10

Sharon, what was Caroline's father's name from her marriage entry? Would the above entry fit?

Thats them.

Father's name is Thomas Matthew Allgood.
I had found a Caroline Allgood born 1854 Worcestershire working as a governess in Brixton London for the Seton family in 1891. So that must have been her.

But where do they go after that ???

Let's wait and see whether any of these new details on Caroline fit with what jidian was expecting! Like you though, curious as to where Ebenezer and Caroline were for 1901!
