Does any one have any info re a John Sutherland from nz.
"Mr Quicks grandfather was a fairly high up officer in the Engish army I think by the name of John sutherland who was granted a parcel of land in New Zealand which was latter sold and is now where Christchurch now stands"[/i][/i][/i]

Hi just a quick update on John Sutherland. He was  born in 1839 to Donald Sutherland and Ann Barbara Blance of Mid and South Yell. A DNA test showed that this family is a strong match. My husband showed as 12% Scandinavian. Thank you to ev and trish1120 for pointing me in the right direction.
