Bruce Burials Pre 1855 in Logie Pert
« on: Thursday 09 September 10 22:25 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I was hoping someone out there can lookup a couple of ancestors of mine who may be buried in Logie Pert.

Their names are;

Andrew Bruce b. 29th Mar 1786 in Logie Pert.  Stonemason
who died between 1822 - 1841.  His wife was Helen Bruce nee Mitchell, who died on 20th Aug 1866 in Brechin.

Also;

John Bruce & Jannet Bruce nee Reid (Andrew's parents)
born circa. 1750 - 1755, and lived in Logie Pert.

Any info would be great.

Regards,

Daryl

None of your Bruces is listed in the Angus MI book in either Logie or Pert.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Hello Daryl

I've only just read your message. My gggrandmother was Catherine Bruce, daughter of Andrew Bruce and Helen Mitchell,  Catherine married William Emslie in Montrose.  I did not know the names of Andrew's parents. So thank you for that information. Where are you? I live in New Zealand.  I would be very pleased to hear from you and exchange information.

Hi,

Wow, many thanks for getting in touch ! I had almost given up any hope of finding any Bruce decendents.

I live in Glasgow, so great for research into my ancestors. I can send you a Bruce tree if you like ?

I would love to know more about Andrew (when did he die?) it's something I can't find anything about.

Let me know your e-mail address, and I'll send you all my Bruce research.

Regards,

Daryl
