Manchester General Cemetery On Winter Break until 2013

Hi,

In the condition we left left the Cemetery in, I found it hard to get out of the car, when I got home!!! Sat now with a 'butty' and a 'cuppa'.  And I'm not moving for anyone!!

Cleared more mud, brought less home, but cannot get it off hands!!

Off tomorrow to get another hoe and brush!!  Do they make anything now, that doesn't bend or snap!!!

Same as: 'looking forward to next time'!!!!

Count done today was 155!!!

In the New year will visit office again and match up grave numbers with names

Feet up now, settled in, still not moving!!!! (if only I could)

Congratulations and thank yous to all of you for your hard work.  I hope to benefit from the transcriptions in due course as I have many Manchester ancestors.  If I can get up to help sometime, I will; but Gloucestershire is a long way south!

Well done to you all! - I try and follow this thread and what a great effort you are all doing.  I love your new website too.  How wonderful that the Family History magazines have picked up on this story - perhaps you will gain some new helpers.

  It was a good day if I say so myself, 155 graves covered, just recovering lol but, willing to go again, if the weather holds out for us. Just waiting for a date as to when from cancan, 5th Dec maybe?? Let me know.
