Sadly once again the 'Groundwork Day' for Sunday is CANCELLED, is the weather ever going to get better for us??  Six weeks now!!!  Missing our Sunday's!!!!

It's now the longest we've not been except over the winter break!!

Once again fingers crossed for next Sunday!!

Luckily all the hard work that has been done in the passed few months has meant that Transcribing is still continuing. :D

Fingers crossed for next week!!!

:'( :'( :'(  CANCELLED  CANCELLED  CANCELLED    :'( :'( :'(

Once again we are having to cancel! ::)

Just watched the weather report for tomorrow on 3 different TV stations and each one gives a different prediction, but they are all mentioning Rain!!

So, once again fingers crossed for next Sunday and anything else we can cross to try and get a decent day to do some very needed digging.

I did have a drive down this afternoon and the area we are working is very sodden, as we've heard when we've been there befor,e we can hear the water in the ground running down the hill when it has been raining.

Cancan :'(

Manchester General Cemetery - quadruplets
« Reply #435 on: Sunday 01 July 12 13:33 BST (UK) »
 :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Thank goodness we have plenty of transcribing to keep us going.

Whilst transcribing we have had an interesting but sad  :'( find.  A set of quadruplets, 3 boys and 1 girl.  Sadly two of the babies died at 24 hours old, one at 36 hours and the last at 40 hours and they were buried together.

I was wondering whether quadruplets in the 1850's were unusual or whether we  just never hear about them because they didn't survive.

Hi Cupidsarrow,

Thanks for your vote of confidence.  The project is going really well, much better than we ever thought it would when we started.

As to when we meet, it all depends on the weather and who is available but Cancan normally posts on this thread on a Saturday evening.  Meets are on a Sunday morning from around 9.30 a.m./10.00 a.m.

Everyone is welcome.  The more the merrier.

Luzzu  :D

CANCELLED CANCELLED  Sunday 8th July  CANCELLED  CANCELLED

Well, keeping everything crossed hasn't helped!!

Sadly once again we are having to cancel the Ground Work Day for Sunday :'(

Maybe we could sing the age old childhood song  'Rain Rain go away, come back another Day' or maybe in our fondest wish of the moment!!! Next Year!!!

All crossed again for next Sunday :D

That's good news.  Let's hope they leave them working at MGC for a while now so they can make some progress.
