Hi Everyone!!

The Weather for Sunday 27th Feb, is not looking good. :'(

Weather reports are for Rain,  Heavy at times.

Rather than wait until Saturday night to find out for sure, this is stopping others from making any other plans, if cancelled and leaving people hanging on a thread!

I feel as the weather reports are not looking good or fine, the best thing is to CANCEL Sunday 27th Feb. :'(

We will post dates for March, this weekend.

Sorry!!!!

Hi All!!

                                    'Groundwork Dates for March'

WEATHER PERMITTING!!!

Dates in mind are  Sunday 6th March       9.30/10am - 1.30pm
                         Sunday 13th March        9.30/10am - 1.30pm
                         Sunday 20th March        9.30/10am - 1.30pm
                         Sunday 27th March        9.30/10am - 1.30pm

Equipment needed  - Hoe, a trowel or a spade. (or ALL!) Stiff brush definitely needed!!
I found a long handle on any equipment saves the back!!!

Good pair of boots!! & Camera

Hopefully we can get a minimum of four to turn up (on each date) and then that day will be definite, the more days we can do the better!!

I myself can do all these at the moment!!!  Just add below your preferred day or all the dates you can do!!!

So, as not to leave everyone dangling about the weather conditions.  I will post Friday night before the Sunday Date whether we are going or cancelling due to the weather

Thanks Cancan & Luzzu

Have you thought of volunteering but weren't really sure what was involved?

Cancan has written a page for the website about what actually happens at our Groundwork Days.  The new page, "Groundwork" can be found as a sub-topic of "The Project" on the menu.

Also new pages added "Notable Burials" and  "Wildlife" (more pictures needed).

We are also going to have a page about "Soldiers" buried in MGC but are still gathering information for this.

Also six new pics added to the Gallery page and five new gravestone shields added to the "Symbolism" page - thanks Spatts

Also the MGCTP will be featured in the April edition of WDYTYA? magzine on the "Your Projects" page in an article written by local historian, Alan Crosby.

Can't do this week I'm afraid  :'( :'( :'(

Nice additions to the website  :D
next time I go I'll try and photograph as many varieties of tree as poss for the nature section - maybe some are original to the cemetery? although most seem to be silver birch that have seeded themselves right over the gravestone you're trying to transcribe  ::)
