Hi All,

Just a quick update on the project!!

Things are going really well and we want to keep up the momentum!!

Sunday 21 November 9.30am-10am until 1.30pm -2pm to map transcribe and photograph, all volunteers needed!!

We need to try and get as much done before the Weather starts to get Bad!!!

So hoping to see ALL again!!! ;)

This week I took one of our completed mapped and photographed sections to the Office and match it with the burial records!!

:D GREAT NEWS, :D as we map, where there is NO Grave Number we have placed the surname in the box on the mapping sheet, so armed with this mapping sheet I have managed to give 99% of the Surnames a Grave Number!!

So, our plan is  working!!

Speaking to Mr Dominic Lunn, again many thanks!! we seem to have 'hopefully' managed to get help from them regarding the photographing of the Gravestones which are face down, and are due for the re-erection, work to begin around Easter 2011!!
But we still need Volunteers to turn up when this happens, as they are willing to help us fill in days we cannot be there for this!! But we cannot expect them to do this everyday.

Nearer the time we will post a reminder!!

                                  ;D ;D ;D MORE GOOD NEWS!! ;D ;D ;D

Also, it has been brought up by the other Organizer Team Member 'LUZZU' about informing Family History Magazines of 'our project', which I'm leaving in her capable hands!!

Thanks also to 'Barry' at the Office, for helping me with the books & 'Alan' for the offer of a 'cuppa'!!! :)

Cancan :-*

Great site Ken!  :D :D :D looks really good.

Sadly I just have too much to do this weekend, so won't be able to make Sunday morning.  :'(
Our other regular comrade tells me he won't be able to make it either.
But I'm sure OH and I can get down one weekend later on though, if anyone has spare time in Christmas run-up.

That's great about the mapping Cancan, well done!  Must send you my last lot of photos too

The website is looking really good, Mancsman  ;D.  Some people are so clever  ;D.  Do you think you should put it on a different thread as well (which we should ask to be stickied) headed with the project name with a link to this thread  ???.  I hope it might generate some interest from Rootschatters who haven't previously been involved.

Don't worry Mancsman, we all have to succumb to wearing glasses when we reach a certain age  8).  Just spotted another stray apostrophe  ;D ;D ;D ;D.

Well done Cancan too.  I think we all know there is a fantastic amount of work going on behind the scenes to ensure this project is a success.

Just been re-reading the thread to write something to send to the various Family History magazines and noticed this idea posted a while ago by Sue_d18 which I think is very good and well worthwhile looking into.

Is it worth contacting local Schools who may have Students doing Duke of Edinburgh Award as they have to do some volunteer work to complete their award?

There does seem to be a Regional Co-ordinator.  Shall I have a go and see what their response is  ???.
