Easthams of Ribchester
« on: Wednesday 06 April 05 06:03 BST (UK) »
Hit a brick wall, and need help.   My gggfather was George Eastham, who lived at Manor house Ribchester (now a B&B, stayed there in '96)  George
married Jane (ms unknown)  They were thought to have died at sea around 1900, en route to USA. Have not been able to find any records of them at all.  They had one daughter, Jane Margaret/Margaret Jane, who married the ostler (groom) Michael King. Again no records found. Anyone out there can help me please?  ??? Baladeen

Jane Margaret/Mgt Jane Eastham would have been born (most likely in Ribchester) approx 1840.  Therefore her mother Jane (ms unknown) could have been born 1820 give or take 10 years either side.  I would imagine Geroge Eastham would have been around the same age.  (However, having said that, that would make him very old if he died at sea around 1900) There was a legend in my family that they died in the Mauritania or Lucitania, but passenger records don't show this, to my knowledge.  Jane Margaret married Michael King, probably around 1860,  (probably in Hawick Scot, where she died about 1924) Sorry I have no other facts, just clutching at straws. but I was tickled pink to get a reply, anyway. Thanks
