Hi Mark,
I was down there today and took a few pictures which I'll download from the camera as soon as I can locate the USB lead.
From the Griffiths map above, the Boyce land consisted of 5 fields on the East side of the road and 2 fields on the West side.
This is the same view as shown on the OSI map (Historic 6") at
http://maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/#V1,599586,631208,7It appears that the 5 fields on the East side have now been knocked together to make one big field and the 2 on the West side have also been knocked into one. The remains of the building is at the extreme South West corner of the field on the East side of the road. From the OSI map (link above) you will see that there were originally two building very close to each other. The largest of these (probably the dwelling house) slightly North of the smaller (probably an outhouse).
It will be a lot clearer if you go to the link above and flick between the 6” Historical, Street Map (Beta) and 2005 Ortho maps.
There are now two modern farm gates at this point. Only 1 wall of the old building remains. I think this is all that's left of the outhouse with no obvious sign of the dwelling.
I'll let you know as soon as the photos are ready to upload.
Dara.
