Am writing from Australia & would like to ask, does anyone know if there have been photographs kept/published somewhere, of members of the following lodge-type Friendly Society?
Ancient Order of Foresters (A.O.F.)
Court: Court Sir George Grey, 3118
Period: c. Jun 1897 - Jun 1901
Place: Wellington
My great-great-Grandfather John William HELLIWELL (b. 11 Mar 1858 (during his Yorkshire family's brief stint in Canada) - d. 1 Mar 1910 (Wellington NZ)) was a member of this Court for at least 4 years, in various postitions including C.R. (Chief Ranger) in late 1898.
He was also nominated for District A.O.F. positions c.1900-1901 (e.g. DJB and DSB, I'm gathering this means District Junior/Senior Beadle), but I'm not sure if he was ever actually elected, or whether he would be in any A.O.F. photos outside Court Sir George Grey.
All of this information has been gained from articles in Papers Past (what a brilliant resource!).
The reason for my question is that my family has no photographs at all of him & this is an attempt (albeit a long shot) to try to find one!
Any help will be much appreciated.
