St. Helens absent voters lookup - Bibby Completed many thanks

Hi I noticed the kind offer to lookup a name in the St. Helens absent voters list.

I'd appreciate a ,lookup for a Francis Bibby, thanks very much in advance.

This is his parants and his sister May Bibby 1901 census at the same address.

So you know that is a good address for the whole family 1911.

Ellen Cundliffe married Francis Bibby Dec 1/4 1895 Prescot ( ST Helens)

I could see no service papers for Francis Bibby Jr, did his brother William join up?

Thank you very much Mr Migky.  Just been on the phone to my dad, and he's really pleased that you've found that information.  He was positive Francis was in the Lancashire Fusiliers.

Have done a search for his service records in the past on Ancestry but nothing showed up, when I saw your kind offer I thought perhaps there's a chance to find his medal card from that information as my dad remembers his grandad (Francis's son) showing him a few medals.

Just been having a look at the medal card on Ancestry, there's something that says "SW B List K/6Y3/2" alongside mentions for the 15 Star, Victory and British, so not sure what that refers to?

William died young so didn't serve, but he had another brother called James born 1870 who did.  Yes, definitely the right family, thanks again so much.

By the way i think he may have been injured out of the army as it shows he was a SWB ( Silver war badge )  The lads & lass's should help you more on this and where to look for war diaries for him and his SWB on the armed forces boards or if you like on the great war forum.

British Army Service Records 1760-1913
Francis Bibby born 1841 Blackburn, Lancashire

I also see Bibby is common in ST.Helens on the AVL.

No, I don't believe they're linked Mr Migky.  All the Bibbys i've found so far have all been born and died in the St. Helens area.  Got them back to the 1840s, the name should have actually been Owen to be honest with you, as the earliest Bibby I have was born to the widow of a Bibby who had a thing with a lodger called Owen for some time in the 1840s after her husband died.  Interesting stuff though isn't it.

Hi John,
Are you sure that William Owen Bibby was illegitimate? My source tells me that they have the birth cert which shows his parents as Jonathan Bibby and Ruth Glover.
