My Hampshire names
« on: Tuesday 05 April 05 21:49 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Just registering my interests in the Portsea area. I have ancestors with the following surnames and would love to hear from anyone who has any connection to, or knowledge of, them.

Williams - before 1820
Grose        "         "
Lush         before 1780
Venson      "          "

Apart from Williams I can't imagine that they are particularly common names, in fact Grose and Lush sound more like descriptions!

Regards,

Jen

Not Hampshire, and not pre 1780, but on 10 May 1818, John Mussell married Flower Venson at Downton in Wiltshire.

I have a Ruth Venson Williams who married Stephen West.  No information on them, except they had a son, David Venson West around 1812 in Sussex.  Not very helpful, still looking for them.
