Hannah Yates, c.1827 - 1898
« on: Tuesday 07 September 10 08:11 BST (UK) »
Hannah Yates was born in James Bridge c. 1829.  Her parents were Benjamin Yates, born 1789 in Cleobury Mortimer, and Ann Baggott, born 1795.
In 1849 she married William Bates with whom she had five (known) children: William, Samuel, Ann, Eli and Louisa. By the 1861 census she was a widow.
In 1863 she married Martin Burke, born c 1828 in Ireland, possibly Galway, with whom she had three children: Edmund James, John Martin and Mary Ann. Martin died in 1882.
We are hoping that one of Hannah's descendants knows something about Martin: where he lived in Ireland, when he came over and if any of his family came with him.  We know from their marriage certificate that his father's name was James, described as a tailor.
The information we seek is the missing link to allow further research in Ireland.
Thankyou.
