Hi Joan

Do you have any idea of your grandmothers maiden name ? There are a number of John Murphys on the LDS pilot search for births during 1940 stating mothers maiden names, if you knew this you could at least have an area of Wexford to start looking.

Hi Joan

It just so happens that the Obituary for Sarah Murphy (d1950) is right below the Obituary for one of my ancestors. I have attached it here for you.

(Source: The People (Wexford) 11/11/1950)

I guess from the content that Sarah Murphy was your father’s Grandmother and if so the article should provide useful information regarding your father’s Uncles and Aunties etc.

There is also an ‘In Memoriam’ article that appeared the following week which I’ll post as well.

I was in the library this week and had a quick look at the papers to see if there were any articles in connection with the two deaths you mention in 1967. I’ll post what I found in further posts.

Further to above here is the 'In Memoriam' article. I guess 'Master John Murphy, Grandson' could well be your Father.

Here is the obituary notice for James Murphy of 7 Hill Street, Wexford town. I guess he was your Father's Uncle, brother of your Grandfather Nicholas.

What is not mentioned in this article but appears in a smaller snippet is that he appears to have been known as James (Maxie) Murphy and his wife was called Nancy.

Hi Joan

Finally here is a notice that appeared regarding the death of your Grandfather Nicholas. I couldn't see a full obituary in 'The People' but it's possible there's one in one of the other Wexford newspapers.

Source: The People (Wexford) October 1967

Interestingly your G.Grandfather William Murphy was still alive at this point.

Hope this helps you piece together some more of your FH.

Regards

Steve
