Another couple of family photos, the first one I can identify the children at the front as being Grace, Jack and Janet Campbell and it must have been taken in the early to mid 1920's.  I beleive it may have been taken at Kinnelhall cottage, St Anns Bridge Dumfriesshire.

The gentleman in the second photo may have been James Campbell 1841 - 1924 who was a farm manager at Goodhope farm. Does anyone share this relation and recognise the photo?

Thanks

These are lovely photos you are so lucky,  I have no connection or knowledge of the families ... just had to say how lovely they are.

Hi Ellary  The photo you think might be James Campbell is my great grandfather.I have not seen any photos of James and I hope you are right about the photo.

Janet Nichol b. 16th July 1840 at Whitrigg Hutton & Corrie Dumfriesshire
Father.     William Nichol

David   b.    Abt.    1882
Marrion    b.    Abt.    1884

Parents of James Campbell

Joseph Campbell  b.   22nd May   1814   at Torthorwald Dumfriesshire

Jessie   b.   27th November 1839    at Johnstone by Lockerbie
James   b.    Abt.    1841  at Johnstone by Lockerbie who is my gt grandfather
William   b.   19th February 1843 at Johnstone by Lockerbie
Jean Halliday Campbell  b.    9th February  1845 at Johnstone by Lockerbie

Grandparents of James Campbell

James Campbell  b.   Abt.  1780  at Caerlaverock Dumfriesshire
Married.     Janet Kerr    on 10th January 1808 at Troqueer Dumfries
Janet never appeared on a census
James married second wife Margaret Dickson on 15th June 1832 at Mouswald Dumfriesshire
Margaret was probably a widow and Dickson was her married name

On the group photo the man on the bottom far right looks as if he might be a son of the man you think may be James Campbell. The elderly woman with her hair in a bun sitting in the middle row second from the right of the photo may be may be James Campbell's wife Janet. The woman in the middle of the back row could be mistaken for my sister. So I hope the people in those two photos are my Campbell's.

My uncle James William Campbell born 1910 also lived at Kinnelhall, he was a game keeper at Raehills Estate and his grandfather before him was also a gamekeeper at Raehills Estate. His name was Walter Renwick who is my great grandfather born 8th April 1857 at Johnstone by Lockerbie.
I hope I have been of some help to you.

Brian.
