Edward Owens of Dublin
« on: Friday 03 September 10 01:31 BST (UK) »
I would appreciate it greatly if anyone has any info on my Gr Gr Gr Grandfather Edward Owens, he was born in 1820 or 1821 in Dublin, his father was called William Owens and I think he was born 1799, William Owens' occupation was a Butler.

Edward moved to Musselburgh which was then Mid Lothian , now East Lothian and married Barbara Muir, he died in 1880.

I would love to expore my irish origins, my late Mum would've loved to know that she was part irish, as my sister married a Dubliner  ;)

Its especially intriging as I assumed with the name Owens that my ancestors may have originated in Wales.

Thanks in advance

Do you know what religion your Owen family were, or have any idea of which part of Dublin (i.e. county, city or suburbs) they lived ?

Many Parish records for the City area are available on www.irishgenealogy.ie  Some further RC records for city parishes are due to be added later this year.

The only info I have is from the census and it stated Edward was born in Dublin, on his death certificate it stated his father was called william. There was someone at GenesReunited that was searching for him back in 2003, i've sent messages and requested to view her tree but have heard nothing.
Thanks for replying
