Help Needed!!
« on: Thursday 02 September 10 16:39 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help me with this?........It's driving me insane!!  ??? ???

I'm looking for a death record for Josiah James.
He was born in Crowan, Cornwall on 18th March 1861.
He married Elizabeth J Hampton in 1883.

In 1891 I have him living with his family in Crowan in the 1891 census and then have found him in Kootenay, Yale and Cariboo, BC, Canada in the 1901 census. This is where my trail ends.

I am unable to find any death, burial, immigration or any other record for him after this date.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Injuredturtle ???

We have found his daughter Julia emmigrating to Canada but not with him. His wife is buried here in Cornwall so we don't think she went over at all.

http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html
 shows two interesting marriages:

1) Jessie James, b. Cornwall circa 1888, father Josiah mother Elizabeth Hampton, married 1912 in BC
2) Julia Annie James, b. England circa 1884, father Josiah mother not listed, married 1922 in BC

And also their deaths.  The areas involved are Maple Ridge/Port Hammond.

Both of them can be found buried here: http://www.interment.net/data/canada/bc/fraser/mapleridge/index.htm

You could try and trace when they came to Canada, in case that gives you some hint as to where their father was at the time.
