A family member got intouch to see if I knew the birth place of a William Peacock born 1767 death 1843, I looked on the 1841 census and it only gives his birth place as Yorkshire.

His wife was Hannah Sanderson born 1779 death 1822 only have Yorkshire for her birth place, no marrage place or date, I have one son George Peacock born 1811 in Great Ayton.

Can someone please find the birth place of his mum and dad.

LDS gave a submitted (treat with caution) record of a marriage for great Ayton so i used this site:

http://greatayton.wikidot.com/parish-registers

and found:

William Peacock otp = Hannah Sanderson otp 18/5/1800 great Ayton
witnesses: Francis Sanderson & John Longstaff (name used on several records so may belong to church staff)

now looking for baptisms.

Ok these are Great Ayton baptisms:

William peacock 11/2/1782  illigitimate s/o Anne peacock
date not as given BUT it is a baptism and- did you get date from 1841  (rounded) or death details?
Anne  Peacock  16/8/1785      "           d/o  "         "

Children for William & Hannah:
William 18/2/1804  s/o W & H  ayton,  clerk to a merchant
Eleanor  3/9/1806
Jane  7/11/1807
George  31/3/1809
Hannah  10/11/1811

Hannah Sanderson  24/1/1779  d/o Humphery Sanderson  shoemaker
can't find another one although there are children of a Francis (see witness name - could be Humphreys brother)

the burials page has lots of Peacocks (use search facility)  incl

Hannah Peacock w/o william  29/8/1822 age 44

One of my 4x great aunts married in to the Sanderson family, William Peacock
is a relative of the lady who asked for my help, but I did not know very much about that side, and on this site the people are so helpfull.

I told the lady I would ask for help on this site and you came up trumps.
