I have a Scottish relative
« on: Wednesday 01 September 10 19:59 BST (UK) »
I seem to have come across my first Scottish relative and need some help.
My great-great-aunt Annie Emma Damary married in Marylebone in 1886. The record has the misspelling of Dammery but no matter.

Her spouse was James Constantine Curran, a professional singer. Curran wrote the song 'Football Crazy'. He was born in Donegal it seems and died in the poorhouse, a drunk. That last is rumour.  He was born about 1854 by the way.

We have him on Scottish people - 1881-  with Ellen W Shaw or Griffin, 55, b Limerick, his mother-in-law. That was before his marriage. At that time he seems to have an earlier wife, Mary W Shaw or Curran, age 21 and a daughter 2 months old b. Glasgow.

That is all we know. We have no further information about his second wife Annie Emma, whether they had any children, when he died, when she died.

There is false trail of a James Curran, wife Annie but he is older and born America, occupation railway guard.

We, my cousin and I,  would be grateful for any further information.
Southern or Southan [Hereford , Monmouthshire & Glos], Jenkins, Meredith and Morgan [Monmouthshire and Glos.], Murrill, Damary, Damry, Ray, Lawrence [all Middx. & London], Nethway from Kenn or Yatton. Also Riley and Lyons in South Africa and Riley from St. Helena.

Fine! By the way I've found that James was born in Donegal & brought up in Scotland, & died in 1900. See link below.
