Sarah Wignall (nee Fawcett)
« on: Wednesday 01 September 10 17:40 BST (UK) »
Does anyone know anything about her?

She was born around 1815, she married John Wignall in Preston in 1836, gave birth to Samuel in 1838 and promptly vanishes!
John remarries in 1840 and Samuel is on the census still living with him in 1841, so I think we can assume Sarah died, but I'm struggling to find where and when etc. I have found a listing for a Sarah Wignall d. Jan-Mar 1840 in Chorley, but I can't find out anything more. I've even squinted my way through newspaper archives, and can only find the marriage.

If anyone knows anything, please let me know, Thanks!
Coppull/Chorley: Wignall, Graham, Priestley, Welch, Birchall, Sellers

Wigan: Santus, Graham, Frost, Bibby, Hague

Blackburn: Moore

Southport/Ormskirk: Sephton, Sutch, Hooton, Leadbetter, Blevin

India: Santus, Graham, Ennis, Connolly

London: Graham, Hopkins, Wortham

NB: Indian Graham's not related to Coppull Graham's! Both Grandmothers had the same Maiden name but are not related! Weird!

Hi - if you cross check with LancashireBMD they have an 1840 death for a Sarah Wignall in Chorley sub-district, but age given as 0 (GRO index won't have age at this time) so she is unlikely to be the one you're looking for.
