Help required trying to trace any information on my grandfathers family.My great grandfather was a Patrick Conneely belived bn around 1857 in Galway.married a
Mary Ann Loyde in 1879.children listed as Mary 1881,Patrick 1885,Katie 1888,Martin 1890,and Mark my grandfather 1893.Address given 1893 as Eyre st,Galway.address 1901 as 4 Forbes Lane,Galway city.No further information known.not listed in the 1911 census.For some reason my grandfather changed his name to Connelly when he moved to England.

my mother in law`s mother was bridget conneely she married michael haverty in 1900 registered in glennamaddy. i would be very interested in any information to give or receive thanks rose

Hi,Im not sure if we have a connection?I have no record of a Bridget Conneely.Thats not to say she was nt  related to my Patrick.The only concrete details I have are in my last post.Can you possibly make a connection?I have very little detail of Patrick other than the marraige to Mary Loyde in 1879.On the marraige certificate it listed Patricks father as being Patrick also!!!Hope you have more information we can share.

Conneely is gaelic for connelly so this maybe why your granfather changed it , by any chance do u have any valentine connellys in your family my great grandmother bridget came from galway and her fathers name was valentine but cant find them anywhere , many thanks
