What sort of information do you want to find?
William's birth should come under civil registration and you can order the certificate which should give names of both parents as well as exact date and place of birth. 1901 and 1911 census are both online (free)- have you found him there yet?
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
