How did I get here "I suppose that is the ultimate question. Well my partner (Prophetess) grab me by the hair and dragged me into "her" chat room to meet her friends. Well that was a wee while ago have finally managed to drag myself away from the chat room to look at the messages, she released me to put Mug Shots on, and found this.
What A magnificient site this is and how do I get this new part of my family onto my tree.

Alan

My other half (julian b) is addicted to the boards and suggested I try it. That was in October 06 and have been hooked since. Great help on boards and chatroom full of great folks.

a fantastic way of finding help with your brickwalls.

On another site, that has helped me <Yorkshire Posts . com> , a friend there gave me 2 sites she had used a lot: this one and Yorkshire Indexers.com
William Stephenson - born 1814 at Doncaster West Yorkshire - married Mary Scott at Cottingham East Yorkshire (Hull) in 1838. Williams parents I believe were another Wm Stephenson and an Alice Carter - married Cantley Parish W Yorks (Doncaster) in 1811..... Other east riding names are Nicholls (Bridlington, Yorks and Wigan Lancs.) and the surname Withernwick.

On google search engine, I think!

I can't remember exactly what I was searching for, a name of one of my relatives or just a genealogy query.  I stumbled across this site by pure accident, thought it was great and now I'm hooked.

It is full of very helpful and friendly people.   ;D
