I found this site  yesterday whilst 'googling' for geneology forums. Couldn't find anyhing i liked until i noticed a comment about 'Rootschat'. I liked what i found.
I've been searching for my Welsh ancestors but am relatively new to this game. Looking for Hughes and Evans in Wales is like trying to walk through treacle!!
I'm determined to persevere though and everything i've read on here so far encourages me a lot.
I've already told one of my daughters about this site, she is looking back on her fathers side.
So---Hello all. Polidor. :)

Hello and welcome Polidor

Good luck with your Welsh research, afriad I can't help you there as my lot seem to have stuck to England.  Now if you branch off into London at some point ...  ;D

Cheers

Hello Polidor

Welcome, and like you I was stuck with my Welsh family, then some one on 'Your Family Tree' forum reccommended Rootschat, and with lots of kind help from members on Rootschat my Welsh brickwalls are all tumbling down.

Thanks for the welcome.
I began my search by joining Genes Reunited. A relative living in New Zealand got in touch and has opened a couple more doors for me. A lovely photo copy of my mother's grandparents was a very pleasant surprise and also a copy of my own grandparent's marriage lines. I sometimes wish i was looking for relatives with a surname that began with 'Z' but am ploughing on regardless!!!!!.

Hi all
Talking to someone else interested in family history and they recommended this site.  I'd never heard of it, but browsed around and liked what I saw, so joined up.  Everyone is so helpful and friendly.  I'm totally hooked.
As I live in a rural area, and it's not always easy to get to major libraries or other resource centres.  This has been a godsend.  :D   :D
Cheers, C

Welcome to you both, Polidor and Ceebut!!!  ;D  ;D

Post your queries on the appropriate country or county boards and you will get a lot of help!

But be warned.  This site is addictive!  Once you get on, it's hard to get off!!!
