I found a reference to rootschat on another board and 'googled'. People are generally helpful but it can be frustrating to post and get no replies ;D Even a 'sorry I can't help you but have you tried ...' would be helpful to newcomers. That is just an observation not a criticism ;D ;D

Yes Joy, I'm sure it's frustrating!  I always try to answer any unanswered post I come across, even if I can't help much, for just this reason!  These are in the minority though, to be fair.  In the past, I have sometimes posted a request for help and had a reply within a couple of minutes!   :o :o

Can,t remember how but 4 years ago threw in a query for a family in Oz. Completely forgot the whole thing till Jan. this year and got an answer from a 3rd. cousin. Since then I,ve been  using RC  fast and furious. Even found another 3 rd cousin in Oz. They didn,t know about one another, but have met up now and going great guns gathering info. I have a big family down under, at least 400 or so and all thanks to RC for helping me find them.
I must agree with Joy though, it,s frustrating never getting a reply to a query. Though on the whole I,ve been extremly lucky.
Cheers. Mary.

I had googled a place name, church actually, and up came a personal family history website where some of the people had been married in the same church and the owner of the website had posted a potted history of the church.  Included on the site were some restored photographs by the folks here on Rootschat so I thought I'd take a look..........................
