Morning Rootchatters,

Thanks Ginger for offereing me the information on Samuel Harrison's which you have found but are not yours, unfortunately they are not mine either  :(

I can't believe how much I have found out about my great grandfather, a few months ago I knew nothing (I was even having problems with his name!) - I now know all about his parents and siblings and where he was in his younger years, I know snippets of his life during WW1, I know where he was living, how long he had been there, what he was doing for work, where when and how the accident happened, how he died in a taxi on his way to hospital, who identified his body, who attended the inquest...so much but yet I cannot find his resting place and I have this real "need" to find him  :'(

Hi Lancashire Rose

I know how you feel - I know where my Samuel is but need to know the truth of how he died and the last few years of his life - he is an enigma.   Good luck with your mission - you will get there in the end.

Hi Dotty

He was born 1866 which made him 50 but the age on the grave looks to be 53, which is odd.  However he is buried with his sister (and described as such)and  with other family members so we are sure its him.

Many thanks

Hi Dotty - yes I even sent for the cert in the hope it was him but it was a chap who died at home of a bad chest - and who worked in a drapery shop - very disappointing ......

cheers
