WHITSTABLE ... FREDERICK was a sweetiepie, the other brother was the wild boar. After the war, FREDERICK's focus was on settling down and beginning his adult life. He courted and then married A. LILLIAN NICHOLS and worked hard to get his career as an Accountant off the ground. During WW1 he took a bullet in the leg and a second in the head. The doctors removed the bullet in his leg and it mended quite nicely but they never removed the bullet in his head and he died of complications related to that bullet several years later. Frederick was very proud to be a London Royal Fusilier and served in the trenches as a signaler in northern France, His war diary reads like a movie. The other brother served as a Warrant Officer in the RAF and after the war hired on with the Lever brothers and worked at their plantation in the Congo. His obit refers to the work as having been lucrative. The online history paint a grim picture of the working conditions for the locals.
Best regards,
