Rev. Henry Adamson Port Chalmers
« on: Sunday 29 August 10 17:34 BST (UK) »
Looking for information on Rev. Henry Adamson born in Co. Down, Ireland.  He was a minister in Port Chalmers for 3 years beginning 1892.  His father John was the head of the Ballydougan School in Ireland.

Also missing is  Robert Adamson, probably a brother to Henry, said to be in NZ.

Wonderful.  It makes sense that he was in Christchurch earlier than Port Chalmers as quite a few Ballydougan families went there.  If the records are somewhat complete, it sounds like I should check for an Irish marriage, but he could have been posted anywhere as he is a minister.

Thanks for the help.

I haven't searched NZ in a while and so much new is on-line.  Thanks for leading me to these sites.   I followed the Christchurch lead and found a stillborn buried at Addington in 1891 and Henry buried at Sydenham in 1925.  Henry Arnold is also buried at Sydenham and might be a son born 1893.  There was no obvious wife buried at either place.

Henry was born about 1858 and came to NZ as a student said one record and went into the ministry in NZ.  Pebbleton? and Lincoln was his first assignment except for something I did not understand.  He quit that for ill health and the reference you provided said he left Port Chalmers which he took immediately after the first assignment for ill health.
