Help Please! - Henry TIPPING
« on: Saturday 28 August 10 22:49 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Please help me find Henry TIPPING and family.  ???

This is what I have:-

Henry TIPPING, b. about 1818
   married Eliza __?__, b. 1818 or 1821
Children:-  Louisa Ann TIPPING, b. abt 1837; chr. 1847 St Pancras, Lnd
Emily Eliza TIPPING, b. abt 1839 ; chr. 1847 St Pancras, Lnd
Frances Mary TIPPING, b. abt 1841 ; chr. 1847 St Pancras, Lnd
Edward TIPPING, b. 1844 ; chr. 1847 St Pancras, Lnd
Henrietta TIPPING, b. abt 1847 ; chr. 1847 St Pancras, Lnd
                 Evelyn TIPPING, b. abt 1851 ; chr. 1865 St Leonard's, Shoreditch, Lnd

P.S - The surname TIPPIN was also used....in 1851, I think.

What I would love to know:-
 1.  Where was Henry born?
 2.  What was Eliza's surname?
 3.  When & where did Henry & Eliza marry?

I've tried for a few years now to find more info on this TIPPING family but without subscriptions, I'm lost.  I hope the RootsChatters can help.

Thank you VERY much. :-*

Frances Mary & Edward and Henrietta all baptised 20.3.1847 - Henry was a plasterer

Louisa and Emily were both baptised on 10.4.1847 - Henry is shown as a plasterer - deceased

Evelyn baptised 10.5.1865 - Henry was a carpenter - deceased

Hi CaroleW,
Thank you for the reply...and so fast!  ;D

Henry has me very confused....deceased by Apr 1847....yet Evelyn was born in 1851??? :o

I also had his death around that time (from FREEBMD) but then the birth of Evelyn made me think I have the wrong Henry????  Oh dear.....that saying "Who's your Daddy" (with respect) comes to mind. ;)

My theory is that Henry knew he was dying and that's why they married

Burials St George The Martyr Camden - Henry Tipping aged 29 on 24.2.1847  so before the baptisms on 20.3.1847 when he is not shown as deceased - mmmmm

mmmmm, indeed.  I like your theory.  Maybe Evelyn's date of birth is incorrect??

May I ask you another favour?

Can you see what happened to Louisa Ann & Frances Mary.  I found some info on the other children but nothing for them.

Many thanks

No - clearly shown as 5 December 1851 on the baptismal record - I think Eliza was being rather naughty there saying father was Henry.  Did you notice his occupation was given as carpenter - not plasterer, which was her fathers occupation on the marriage cert

I'll check the other 2 children out and see what I can find
