Sadie Amsbury-Stoke Newington fire brigade - 1940s

I'm wondering how/where to find info on fire brigade employees working somewhere around Stoke Newington during the mid 1940s? My mother (Sadie Amsbury) was living in this area at that time. I believe she was a singer in a fire brigade band & sang at the London Palladium!! She seems to have been relocated (evacuated?) to Colwyn Bay, where she met my father Cyril Hopwood & they married in Conway in December 1947.

if you go into the london fire brigade site  www.london-fire.gov.uk  they have a research section it does cost to look for a record but it may be the only way you,l find what you need
