Moressey / Morissey in Madeira
« on: Thursday 26 August 10 05:02 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for information on a family named Moressey (or Morissey) involved in the wine trade in Madeira during the late 18th century.

While I don't have any information on the father, I do know they were Catholic and had three daughters: Mary, Ann, and Catherine, all born sometime during the 1780s.  They were sent back to England to attend the Bar Convent school in York in 1793.

Since this information pertains to research I'm doing for my PhD, any leads would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Kathy
