Hi

When asking for this type of lookup - you need to include the quarter in which the marriage took place to help narrow the search - info available on freebmd

Have you checked the IGI Pilot website as at least the 1852 and 1863 marriages are listed complete with fathers names

Hello, I am just starting out on this site, so please excuse my antipodean ways.

I am descended from Henry Aspden who married Alice Walmsley in the Blackburn Registry Office 8th Feb 1850.

Their two witnesses where: Nancy Wolsmholm and Henry Livesay Haworth. Isn't that a coincidence.

From the 1841 census, I have found Henry living with his siblings and his father James Aspden in Blackburn.

From the 1851 census I have Henry Aspden and his wife Alice living ,along with Henry's father James in the house of Rodger Farren in Blackburn.

I have been led to believe that James Aspden married Margaret Broughton, daughter of John Broughton and Jane Walmsley, but I cannot confirm this.

I am hoping you might be able to help with this line as your post, named persons who seem to be sort of common to us both.

In particular, the Aspden ancestors of James born 1791, are an enigma.

Cheers

That's brilliant - Thanks Radcliff - do you have any idea of the year of Jane's baptism?
